Our Macintosh-based prepress department welcomes your questions and concerns regarding your artwork. We'll preview your files and make sure that they're 100% before going to film- giving you the peace of mind knowing that there will be no time delays or cost increases due to incomplete or incorrect files. We work hard to ensure that all your needs are addressed up front. We can recommend cost-saving features to help contain your investment on a print project, from how the job is prepped, to how it will run. Our software includes: QuarkXPress; Adobe Pagemaker; Adobe Photoshop; Adobe Illustrator; Macromedia Freehand and Microsoft Office. We can read PC files. Ask our sales representative for specifics on how to save your file so we can access it more easily.

Design Assistance/ File Manipulation
Brass City Printery has fulltime pre- press consultants, who will prep your existing file for output, take direction from you on changes to your file, or, create new artwork from scratch. We can provide color/contrast correction, process to pantone conversion, and photo manipulation as needed. Those of you who have no more than a concept, can rest assured in the knowledge that we can take your idea and run with it, from creative up through delivery of the printed piece. Brass City Printery has a full darkroom, which provides cost effective back up when necessary.
- What platform (Mac/Windows) do you work in?
- What software and versions did you use to create your artwork?
- Did you apply trapping? Did you allow for 1/8 inch bleeds where necessary?
- Have you supplied all fonts and original art? Have you included any original art files used in the creation of your work?
- Have you included hard copy, color separations, and a contact name and phone number where we can reach someone about the files?
- Have you specified what proofs you expect?
